FAQ
question
What is the Contemporary Batik Guild?

Young art enthusiasts who are driven by the goal of teaching the Modern Batik art techniques, and the fundamentals of Art to disadvantaged, underserved and at risk youth.

Who can join the guild?

Anyone who has completed 1 to 3 levels of the Workshop conducted by the Guild members. The Guild encourages various art techniques within the Organization and welcomes everyone who would simply like to learn and create art.

What do you charge for the workshops?

The Guild is supported strictly by grants and honorariums, and donations. There is no hourly charge for training to the Community Centres, schools, libraries etc, but we do request an honorarium that will go directly back to the Guild’s funds, so that we can continue to facilitate workshops.
The community centres or other facilities may charge a slight fee to participants; that fee would be advertised when a workshop is set up with the various organizations. The Guild does not provide the materials used in workshops.

How long are the workshops?

The length of workshops varies depending on the techniques being instructed. A minimum of nine hours is needed to complete an art piece. This can be spread over one week or one month with two to three hours a day to complete it.

Where are you located?

The Guild currently does not rent or own an office space, however you may email us at
